It was a dull day yesterday. What looked a promising week full of sunshine and high temperatures; dull, gray, Cheerless and blah! I did not sleep last night and the light head that I woke given bands of the day and become a real big headache to sort of head at the time we arrived the house! And the fact that I missed 2 consecutive days of my exercise regime to get in shape and beat hubby in bike race more sin and bruises my pride.
So there I sat in a living room, watching from the depressing gray sky with not even a ray of light in the day and the feeling of chasing pity me tightly and wrap choking me. I sat there to see the hatred in the place, hate the weather, hate the gray sky, hate the humidity, hate the mess around me, who hate all my friends having a wonderful time, hating hubby and Lil Dumpling squealing and chattering and hate myself for feeling this way! Add chopped onion and garlic, and fry them until the edges turn golden brown, about 2 minutes on medium flame.
The gray clouds slowly move and the single ray of golden light of the sun kisses the earth. The world will be a peaceful place once again as my own little anti-depressant continues to hold tight and kiss me gently on my cheek! The good life! No, life is better than good! I make sure I keep some out as Lil Dumpling gets to see the beautiful and magical journey of growing their own tails. ;) Thank you very much that he was asking me why he can not grow his own tail even after sitting in a bath tub for hours and any water splashing?! ;)
So yes, I used these with the tails of dal as the bright idea of combining the two in one dish instead of separate dal and vegetable side dishes of hot the summer season. With the help of my trusty 7-year-old pressure cooker, my best friend in the kitchen, I prepared this dal for Diner under 30 mins. Sprouted Dal Mix the chopped tomatoes, green chilli and ginger and let them cook until tomatoes turn pulpy and release their juice, about 3 minutes. Reduce the flame to medium and cook for 15-20 minutes or 3-4 whistles before the flame.
with the first sweet and sour taste with a light touch of spice in it. I limited the use of spices to the bare minimum to keep the earthly taste dry and split dove. The fresh herbs give it added a very refreshing taste and made it that Sprouted Dal This Sprouted Dal only delicious to eat his own as a hearty and comforting bowl of soup or whatever Indian flat breads of many (Whole Wheat Naan Butter Naan or any stuffed parathas) or the plain / flavored Basmati rice
